Creating Your Day

Have you ever noticed when you wake up on the wrong side of the bed the rest of your day continues to be a mess? Can you believe that you are the writer to bed 2your own story, that you are the creator of your life? If you wake up in a negative space with negative thoughts, you will continue to create much of the same throughout your day/life. On the other hand, if you wake up with a grateful heart, and set your intentions for a great day that is what you will create.

You may be saying, “Sometimes things are thrown at me that I cannot control”. Yes, that is a true statement. There are many things in life that are out of our control, however we are in control of how we react to it. My dear friend Sunny Johnston says “Life is happening for you, not too you”.  Once you understand this very important lesson you are grateful for the challenges and what they have taught you. Your mindset will also be your message to the universe of what you want delivered to you in your life. Become the mirror of what you want in your life.  When you start reflecting what you want to attract, it will come to you!

So how do you create your best day? There are many things you can do, you will find a ritual that resonates with you.  The very first and most important thing is to get enough sleep.  I find that as I create a more positive lifestyle I need less sleep, I feel happy and so much less tired and it all starts with how you create your day. Here are some things I do every morning.

  1. Before getting out of bed as I am waking up I start my prayers thanking God and servethe angels for all my blessings and asking for their help and guidance throughout my day. I ask, “How may I serve today?”



2. Next I give my dogs some morning hugs, kisses, and belly rubs. These are my babies, aren’t they cute?

4. Every morning I spend about 20 minutes with yoga and meditation. Yoga creates strength and flexibility and I mediate while I hold poses.



5. I complete my morning ritual with a light breakfast and a cup of tea on the patio.

Now you may be thinking you may not have time for all these things. The truth is, we create time for what is important to us. Years ago, I may have only done my daily affirmation card and it was usually in the car on the way to work. Start with one thing that works for you, you will start to add more as you create the space for yourself. I never used to be a morning person, now I look forward to waking up right before the sun rises to create my day. My entire routine listed above takes me about an hour. It takes me about 30 mins. to shower and do my makeup and hair.  I schedule myself 2 hours in the morning to ensure I have enough time so that I am not rushing.

When my day becomes busy I have the mental calmness and stability to handle whatever comes my way.  I feel more in control of my own thoughts, emotions, and reactions. It is amazing how I am more open to hearing my own spirit and divine guidance. I certainly feel clearer, more focused and more creative too!

If you have children and other commitments in the morning you will have to get creative and make sure to put yourself first. You have to take excellent care of yourself before you can take excellent care of others you must learn to make yourself a priority. For example, you may have to get up a little earlier than everyone in the house to have your quiet alone time. You can have your children join in your morning ritual and create your day together.
