What are Essential Oils? Essential Oils are God’s natural healing agents that provide benefits that are holistic in nature. They work on our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies, thereby providing completeness to our overall health and well-being. One powerful action comes from their infection fighting components. All of the oils are multifaceted in their characteristics. Their characteristics include antimicrobial, antibacterial, antiseptic, antiviral, antifungal, anti-cancerous, analgesic, antidepressants, mood enhancers, aphrodisiacs . . . the list is endless! These amazing agents are extracted from the plant or plant parts, that were made to naturally work on our behalf. Each drop of oil contains forty to fifty plants/herbs. This is why they are so potent. For example, take Edna Valley Lavender’s Organic Lavender Oil, it takes one hundred fifty pounds of buds to make a 1 pound oil, and our Organic Rose Otto takes one thousand, one hundred sixty rose petals to make one ounce.
Edna Valley Lavender’s Essential Oils Club, Oil of the Month for February, is lemon. This wonderful essential oil was unknown to Europe until Alexander the Great brought it back from Asia. Today the principal countries of production are the United States, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Greece, South Africa, and China. It takes three thousand lemons to produce one kilo of essential oil. This oil is an “all around,” with numerous uses. It is known to be one of the best anti-infectious, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antiviral, stimulant, tonic, and digestive oil. It’s no wonder that some of its well known therapeutic uses include bronchial conditions, influenza, upper respiratory infections, skin infections, acne spots, herpes, insect bites, depression, nervous tension, detoxification, and aids in the inability to concentrate. We hope you’ll try Edna Valley Lavender’s Organic Lemon essential oil and that you’ll join us in discovering the endless blessings from theses God given gifts through our Club Membership at Ignite Yoga Studios.
