How to choose essential oils
The selection of essential oils is key to ensure they are highly therapeutic! Edna Valley Lavender only offers pure authentic organic or wild crafted oils, not synthetic, shoddy imitations, manipulated, adulterated or perfume grade oils! Many vendors are interested in selling nicely scented oils in pretty packaging rather than ensuring they are providing our bodies healing and life. There are many oils on the market that are manipulated for scent or to pad a company’s pockets rather than to achieve health and wellbeing in the individual using them. Quite frankly, this cannot be overstated! Reputation and knowledge in identification is key to purchasing these oils. Edna Valley Lavender vouches for the authenticity and therapeutic value as Virgie as a Registered Nurse and being breast cancer survivor ONLY offers highly therapeutic Organic or Wild crafted, Essential Oils (that she has verified) and that she uses daily for her health to promote holistic wellness and preventative healthcare.
Our featured oil for April will be our amazing Organic Peppermint. This herb has been used for digestive health since ancient Egyptian times! It is thought to have originated in Northern Africa and the Mediterranean. Some claim peppermint was not cultivated until the 18th century in England, although peppermint is referenced in ancient texts. The confusion comes from being mentioned interchangeably with spearmint and the generic term mint. Peppermint has a very long history of cultivation and has been used in herbal medicine and cooking since about 1500 BC. It wasn’t until 1696 that peppermint was classified as its own subspecies, and most historians believe that the mint mentioned in many historical texts is peppermint, and you can find it in Greek mythology as well as the bible.
Some of it’s excellent properties include: an analgesic, antibacterial, anti-carcinogenic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, and digestive. Come and enjoy learning key facts and learning recipes for your personal health and home holistic living using this awesome Essential Oil! Our classes are held on the 3rd Friday of each month from 1:15pm to 2:15pm. The upcoming two months classes we will have a workshop instead, and will notify you which of the months in forthcoming blogs.
