Happy 4th of July. I hope you enjoyed the holiday and with it a personal sense of independence. What does independence mean to you? I like to think that independence is about connecting most with our own intuition, beliefs, and values and trusting our own inner compass (and Spirit). Independence also means self-rule. Think of this definition when you are defining self as opposed to our nation. And, as a nation, many have given the ultimate sacrifice so that we as individuals are afforded the option to self-rule. This includes believing, worshiping, and living how we want to exist. My heart is full of gratitude for those that have made these options available to us.
Where is balance in all of this? It is easy to state and live in that space of self-rule as long as it doesn’t insert or upend another person’s right to believe, live, and worship how they would like. We will not always agree, and that is both the beauty and struggle of co-existing with other humans. Most of us have an innate sense of right and wrong and a standard of values and beliefs that guides us. As long as we live within our self-rule and what is for the best and highest good of all concerned, we seem to do fairly well with the co-existing part even when we disagree.
This week I encourage you to find those places where conflict between self-rule and other people rule show up. This is a great time to discover that sense of the bigger picture and for the best and highest good of all. It is also a great time to evaluate or re-evaluate the “should” statements. Sentences that begin with “it should be” or “they should be “may indicate where self-rule and other rule are colliding. When I find myself struggling with this one, I will sometimes consider “I wonder if” a good place to unravel the point of conflict.
Archangel Raguel is the archangel of justice that helps us with fairness, justice, and conflict. Archangel Raguel can help us overcome conflict so that two opposing self-rules will find that win/win. Consider what is most important, being right or being fair. Helping with our new perspectives is the full moon on Friday, July 9th at 6:16 p.m. MST.
