Sunday Guest Blog – Introducing Kim Richardson

Creating Your Day Have you ever noticed when you wake up on the wrong side of the bed the rest of your day continues to be a mess? Can you believe that you are the writer to your own story, that you are the creator of your life? If you wake up in a negative space with negative thoughts, you will continue to create much of the same throughout your day/life. On the other hand, if you wake up with a grateful heart, and set your intentions for a great day that is what you will create. You may be saying, “Sometimes things are thrown at me that I cannot control”. Yes, that is a true statement. There are many things in life that are out of our control, however we are in control of how we react to it. My dear friend Sunny Johnston says “Life is happening for you, not too you”.  Once you understand this very important lesson you are grateful for the challenges and what they have taught you. Your mindset …

Inspiration

As far as I’ve ever known I was just your average Cali girl that grew up in Sunny California and had an average sort of upbringing.  You know the ones where family didn’t talk about much that happened either inside the home or out.  It was just how it was back in those days.  Flash forward more than a few years and I find myself knee deep in research for a book I’d been wanting to write for a long time.  The book is the one I’m currently working on “Messages from the Huntress,” which revolves around a Cherokee woman who discovers that that she is about inherit the spiritual gifts and responsibilities of her ancestors.  She of course, would rather not! About a year and a half ago, I began doing some work on our very vast, expansive and shall we say “colorful” family tree.  Our people hail from the panhandle of Oklahoma.  My Great Grandparents acquired their parcel of land sometime after the Oklahoma Land Rush of 1899 or in the early 1900’s.  I was told that they did get their parcel …

The Lotus Flower- A Symbol of Hope

Most people equate the lotus flower to the Yoga world or to Buddism.  The Lotus Flower has many significant sacred meanings in Hinduism, Egyptianism and even in early Christianity.  In Saint Thomas of the Cross depictions you can see the Lotus Flower shown underneath the cross while a dove rests above it.  To me it has a special significance as a reminder and a symbol of hope. Here is this beautiful flower often with its blossoms standing tall above the water.  It’s stem and stock are sturdy and resilient even though it grows from the bottom of river bottoms and ponds and most often, in the muddiest of waters.    Every time I see a picture of a Lotus Flower my spirit feels lighter, more hopeful and steadfast.  To me it’s a symbol of hope.  At night, the blossoms retreat and curl in on themselves only to bloom with the sunrise.  It reminds me that no matter where we come from, what are past has been or the life we have had up to this point, we still bloom.  Just as sure …

Power Path New Moon Update from Lena Stevens and Pat Liles

New Moon is Monday, October 12th at 6:05PM Mountain Daylight Time Dear Friends, We are still processing the results of last month’s powerful trio of the eclipses and the equinox. Rather than a reset, this new moon is helpful in supporting something in your life that you are striving to balance. Make some commitments around something that became clear to you during the eclipse time that you would like support for. This new moon is about relationship, community and cooperation. It is important to give voice to your intentions and desires. Then spend some time in “being” mode so you can begin to receive. Watch for irritability and anxiety during this time. Big changes are occurring and your survival instincts may be a bit triggered. Be patient and trusting that whatever is happening is leading you to the right place. Blessings, Lena  For the month of October we are offering our Mp3 Audio Freedom Through and from Time by José Stevens for just $1.99 (normally $4.99)   ASTROLOGICAL NOTES: Written by Patricia Liles.  Patliles@aol.com Libra …

Just a Walk in the Park

Recently, a friend told me that I needed to spend more time outside.  She was right, I’ve really missed it.  So I started kind of scoping things out and went to a local park looking for somewhere I could go that would be great for walking.  I’d forgotten how wonderful it is to be outside.  After a long hot summer it was such a great feeling to have the warm sun and cool air (okay, cooler air),  across my skin.  As I took my turn around the park I began to notice how green everything was and how benches were placed under the limbs of trees for shade.   Someone has done a lot of work here to make it wonderful for all of us to enjoy.  As I continued walking, I could hear children laughing while playing on the splash pad and their happiness was added to my own. It was kind of perfect really.  I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to experience the joy of the day if I had not gotten out of my comfort zone …

A New Flame

Imagine the morning before the sun rises, in that still quiet place when it’s still dark outside and so quiet that the birds aren’t even singing yet.  You step out onto your porch to greet the day and you take a deep breath and cough.  Not from the fresh morning air but from your crazy neighbor below you that is burning stuff at 5:00 a.m.  Nothing criminal is afoot here, it is only I …the crazy neighbor …doing her homework… in the dark.  Part of which is to take something that I’ve written and then burn it to release it.  I really don’t want anyone watching me while I do it.  Much better that they should think I’m smoking something instead, right? My days are filled with homework; personal, group and learning.  The majority of that happens before I begin my workday somewhere between 5:00 and 5:30 a.m. (depending on how many pages I have to burn) and then I get to write which I love.  Don’t get me wrong, writing is work like everything …

A Four Legged Guardian Angel

Meet Mozart, he is the best four legged Guardian Angel a women could have.  He is my constant companion when I’m at home and we have been together since I plucked him out of a tree when he was just a baby.  He is now seventeen years old.  He is the last of my rescues and it has been just him and I for several years now.  I feel bad that he lost his four legged buddies but knew it wouldn’t be fair to him to bring in a youngster or someone to take their places.  He doesn’t mind being the only kitty.  He has a great home with a person who loves him very much.  He never seems to amaze me with his own awareness. It was an interesting night last night.  First I did some healing work and then climbed into bed to meditate and pray.  Eventually I fell asleep only to be woken by the strangest feeling, a spiritual one, but different than most times.  I started to fall asleep again, this time my cat started licking me …

What I did During the Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse

Today I spent the morning in mediation asking for and receiving forgiveness from people, places and things that I no longer wanted to carry around with me.  You can feel it, how it weighs heavy on your being.  It is so very strange the things that you carry around with you.  You think you have dealt with them a long time ago but for whatever reason the really deep stuff just settles and comes up at the weirdest times. You know how you’re just going through the grocery store and all of a sudden it hits you?  This feeling that comes out of the blue and you think to yourself, “what the heck?” (I say other things but for public view, heck works), did that come from.  The feeling is so strong that you forget what you came to the grocery store to get or what you’re doing at all.  So you take a couple of deep breaths and remind yourself that it happened a long time ago.  Yet it continues to nag you throughout …
